Bringing nature indoors - a stunning display home receives the natural treatment.
Surrounded by parks and a nature reserve, the beautiful Chifley display home from Ideal Building Solutions in Googong, New South Wales, oozes style, comfort and a sense of homeliness.
Given the home’s surroundings, sourcing natural materials was a key component of product selection for My Hoang, from MS Kitchens. “We wanted to complement the natural surroundings of this display home by bringing natural timber into our kitchen and master ensuite design,” explains My.
“Googong is a new suburb with a lot of trees and parks and it’s surrounded by a natural reserve. Our objective was to complement the natural environment by bringing timber to our design along with a pale shade of green to the theme. At the same time, we wanted to invoke a sense of cosiness into the home so that clients feel this a place they want to be. As much as people love the industry look at the moment, we would like to bring back the feeling of ‘family home’,” adds My.
Inspired by the contours of the Australian landscape, Porta Contours timber lining boards are a perfect fit for this home – adding natural warmth, texture and movement to the spaces. Along with the curved design on the island bench and ensuite cabinet, the rolling crescents of the Cirque profile soften the strong lines of these functional spaces, adding a richness to the palette. “The curved island bench and curved vanity in the ensuite showcasing Porta timber are my favourite,” says My. Available with a matching corner bead, Porta Contours in Cirque can be used to create tight curves down to a 500mm radius.
Porta Contours are suitable for use in wet areas such as kitchens and bathrooms*. By finishing the lining boards in a clear coating, MS Kitchens retained the look and feel of the product – allowing the natural warmth and variation of the timber species to shine through.
“The team at Porta is very supportive. I extend my appreciation to the Customer Service team who provided me with samples and instructions while we were in the design phase and who swiftly organised the products to be delivered to Canberra,” explains My.
“Porta Contours can be used for more than just cladding a wall. I love the Contours on the ensuite vanity so much! When I initially came up with the design, I knew I would use Porta Contours to create the curves,” adds My.
