Finding it difficult to source a dining table that fit their space and budget, Katrina and Jesse from The Reno Life decided to make their own.
“In this house, having a small living and dining room has definitely meant overcoming some space challenges,” explains Katrina. “We've needed to think outside the box to make it feel and function as more spacious than it is.”
The solution to complement their dining space was a round table. “Naturally I was drawn to the $2185 (without shipping) Globe West Tully table but, understandably, Jesse didn't want a bar of that,” says Katrina. “So, he offered to make one instead!”
“We found a 100-year-old Tasmanian Oak tabletop on Gumtree Australia that needed some tweaking, then Jesse made a base that he clad in Porta Half Round Dowel in Tasmanian Oak,” explains Katrina. “Some sanding, experimenting with oils, re-sanding, patching router holes and a bit more drama resulted in a final product that I absolutely love and will treasure for years to come!”
