This city rooftop deck is made from durable Porta Cumaru. The client selected a low maintenance and natural solution by choosing Porta Cumaru timber decking. Porta Cumaru is Class 1 rated, so it is expected to have a lifespan of greater than 40 years when exposed above ground. The deck has been left to weather to a silver-grey, a fitting aesthetic as the deck looks onto the city skyline.
Porta recommends a maintenance schedule to preserve the appearance and dimensional stability of timber. To retain the timber’s natural colour regularly apply tinted pigmented coatings, should a silver-grey look be desired, regularly apply a clear unpigmented coating to protect the timber from UV and moisture as per the manufacturers’ recommendations.
